Now the van seems working well and we take it out to photo sunsets etc but have not tried an overnight-er yet. Evenings are still nice but its hot here during the day now. We should be in the Smokies~!

Pat is learning gardening and Joost did some transplanting of tiny tomatoes while he was here and she makes sure they are doing well. The garden out on the north side is sort of surviving but the bugs have been eating some.  The carrots should be ready soon and she is already harvesting some onion greens for our soups. We have an electric soup hot pot and enjoy that with company... Its perfect for 4 or 5 and many are enjoying the experience for the first time... very common in Asia.

These are Joostmatoes and as you can see they are blooming and Pat is beaming~!

The squirrels were into one so we are now careful that no chairs are near that they can jump from. They are digging into our garden on the north side of our house already.  Of course these are the squirrels that we have raised from pinkies over the years.

Pat is discovering a lot about animals now that she has some leisure time here in the US. She worked very hard most of the time in Bangkok and didn't have much time for activities.  Here she enjoys nurturing out baby Northern Flickers. They were brought to us by a Team that trimmed trees.
Although they were brought to us from more then 10 miles away, while they were fledging, we left them out in a cage during the day. Much to our surprize an adult came to feed them. We think too far away to be a parent but it will always be a mystery.
